Jared Lindsay Clark

Jared Clark lives and works in Salt Lake City not far from the city of his birth, Provo, Utah. He earned his BFA in painting, drawing and printmaking from BYU and went to Richmond's Virginia Commonwealth University where he earned his MFA in painting and new genres. While at VCU Clark was awarded the Dedalus Foundation Fellowship (started by Robert Motherwell) and a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fel lowship. As he exited graduate school Clark found entrance into the residencies Art Omi, Vermont Studio Center, and Kompact Living Space in Berlin. He then lived and exhibited in New York City for a spell before returning to Utah where he was awarded the Utah Arts Council Fellowship and a residency at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. Clark has been represented by ada Gallery of Richmond VA since 2006 and counts Cindy Sherman as one of his collectors due to this gallery relationship. He has shown nationally in many art fairs and other galleries and a couple of museums including a solo show at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. Thanks to his archaeologist father's work in Southern Mexico and his time as a missionary in Spain, Clark is a Spanish speaker who harbors the dream to exhibit in Mexico City, Spain, and other Spanish speaking cities and countries. Clark teaches at the Waterford School, keeps a home studio in the Rose Park neighborhood, and is a grateful husband and father.
