Artist: Ortho Fairbanks 2 artifacts total
Ortho R. Fairbanks is a talented son of John B. Fairbanks. Born in Salt Lake City, he has become known as yet another Fairbanks sculptor of significant reputation. His work remains on view in the Utah State Capitol Building, where his art can be seen alongside that of his Uncle Avard, who was also his teacher at the University of Utah. Ortho Fairbanks actually earned both a B.F.A.(1952) and an M.F.A.(1953) at the University of Utah. He taught for quite a number of years(1960-68) at the L.D.S. Church College at Hawaii (now Brigham Young University of Hawaii), has done some carving on very fine works for which Avard Fairbanks is exclusively credited.
