The artists, Tim Prentice and David Colbert, created a kinetic sculpture suspended just inside the front entrance representing the mass of streaks of rain appearing to hang under a cloud and evaporating before reaching the ground so common in the desert. The sculpture consists of 54 drop lines of kinetic elements suspended from six points in the ceiling and descend approximately six feet to about ten feet from the floor. They hold hundreds of reflective elements of clear Lexan that are angled to respond to the slightest currents of air. The elements' reflective surfaces sparkle with all the colors and light present inside and outside the space.
